Deep groove ball bearings

Let's first look at the factors that affect the color of bearing grease.

1. Base Oil: Divided into mineral oils, synthetic oils, etc., each with various viscosities and colors ranging from colorless to black.

2. Thickener: Includes lithium-based, lithium-complex, calcium-based, and calcium-complex thickeners, each with different colors.

3. Additives: Includes anti-wear, extreme pressure, and rust-inhibiting additives, ranging from solid to liquid, each with different colors.

4. Solid Additives: Such as molybdenum disulfide, PTFE, boron nitride, etc., with varying colors.

5. Coloring Agents: Specific coloring agents are added to alter their original color, distinguishing different product lines and facilitating use.

6. Influence of Manufacturing Process: Reasonable or normal temperature deviations during manufacturing can cause variations in the color of the produced grease.

7. Influence of Different Batches of Raw Materials: Color may vary between different batches. Let's talk about the performance of lubricating grease. Usually, the hardness, water resistance, extreme pressure resistance, anti-wear properties, and operating temperature range of the grease are used as the criteria for judgment and selection. If the performance parameters of a certain lubricating grease meet the predetermined requirements, it is a qualified product.

As can be seen from the above, the performance of bearing grease is not directly related to its color. Lighter color does not necessarily indicate better performance, and darker color does not necessarily indicate worse performance. As users of grease, we generally do not have the resources to perform performance analysis on the oil. Judging oil quality solely by observing color and smell is not advisable. However, if users observe inconsistent transparency, significant layering, or clumping during use, they can generally determine that the product has been contaminated or expired.

Users are best advised to select a professional and qualified lubrication product supplier to collaboratively resolve various lubrication-related problems.
