The bearing seat seal is a key component that prevents pollutants from entering the interior of the bearing and grease leakage. Common types include felt seals, V-shaped seals, labyrinth seals, etc.

Felt sealing is suitable for low-speed and high-temperature environments (below 100 ℃), V-shaped sealing rings can resist a circumferential speed of 15m/s, and labyrinth seals block particles through multi-stage gaps.

Under harsh working conditions, the iron flint seal adopts a three-stage labyrinth design, which can effectively isolate corrosive dust (such as iron ore), and with the function of lubricating grease cleaning, extend the bearing life by more than 4 times. In high-temperature water vapor environments such as continuous casting machines, split bearing seats often use a combination of labyrinth and skeleton seals, forming a labyrinth structure through sealing rings to prevent grease leakage.

Solution to address excessive sealing of bearings:
1. Replacing the seal with the correct spring tension can also machine the shaft to obtain the correct tension required for the current spring.
2. Ensure that the seals are lubricated correctly.
3. Check for wear on the sealing lip.
4. The sealing lip facing outward usually allows excess lubricant to be discharged and prevents contaminants from entering.
5. The seal must face in the correct direction to prevent grease from remaining in the bearing and to prevent contamination from entering the bearing

 

 

Additionally:
There are multiple seals in the bearing (bearing seat) device, or the bearing seals are not aligned, which can lead to temperature rise, increased noise, and accelerated wear during the initial running in period. These situations can also affect the performance of the bearing seals.
