【 Failure modes of ball bearings 】 - Classification of failure modes of ball bearings - Fracture and cracking (hot cracking)

When a bearing rotates at high speed, relative sliding between its two surfaces generates frictional heat. If the sliding is very obvious, the heat generated by friction may cause surface cracks, which are usually perpendicular to the sliding direction of the bearing.

The following figure shows a typical example. The inner ring of the rotating bearing adopts a clearance fit installation method to withstand axial loads. Due to creep, there is relative sliding between the end face of the rolling bearing and the shaft shoulder or spacer, resulting in adhesive wear. Friction heat causes transverse cracks, ultimately leading to penetrating cracks in the bearing ring.

We produce a full range of deep groove ball bearing models. These multifunctional bearings are the most common type, suitable for various industries. Therefore, we have made extensive summaries of users in various industries and continuously optimized production processes to make the bearing life longer.
