The definition of indentation:

Permanent plastic defects that occur on the surface of steel balls and raceways during the rotation of ball bearings due to instantaneous overload, impact, or foreign object crushing. This type of driving failure trace is called indentation.

What measures are taken to prevent indentation in ball bearings?

1. Ensure that the bearings work under clean conditions.

2. Use sufficient sealing devices to protect the bearings.

.3. Ensure sufficient lubrication of bearings: appropriate re lubrication time, appropriate re lubrication amount, appropriate lubricant.

4. Prevent bearings from falling off.

5. Handle bearings with care.

Here are several common cases of indentation failure

Case 1: Dents caused by continuous crushing of hard particles on the inner ring of deep groove ball bearings due to poor sealing.

Case 2: Damage to steel balls in deep groove ball bearings caused by hard particles in contaminated lubricating grease.

Case 3: Due to the indentation caused by continuous crushing of particles, the back of the indentation on the inner ring of the deep groove ball bearing began to peel off and fail.
