Thin-walled deep groove ball bearings 6904ZZ are made of 52100 chromium steel and 440C stainless steel. They are also available in a series including the SR series stainless steel bearings, the 6700 series deep groove ball bearings, the 6800 series ball bearings, the 63800 series ball bearings, and the 6900 series deep groove ball single-row bearings. Some sizes of these bearings can be produced in open, shielded, or sealed configurations.
Thin-walled deep groove ball bearings 6904ZZ were developed for applications with extremely limited space. They have a very small cross-section, which remains constant within each series, hence the name constant cross-section bearings. They are basically available in three types: radial contact deep groove ball bearings, four-point contact bearings, and angular contact bearings. The four-point contact ball bearing type we offer is the most popular because it can withstand axial and radial loads from both directions, thus operating in the same manner as double-row angular contact ball bearings.

Thin-walled bearings mainly fall into three types:
Open thin-walled bearings: Oil-lubricated, with low starting torque and flexible rotation.
Sealed thin-walled bearings: These bearings use high-temperature seals such as nitrile ACM rubber or PTFE (maximum 250°C) and fluororubber (maximum 230°C) to effectively prevent dust, moisture, and lubricant leakage. These seals increase friction and reduce bearing speed. The sealing effectiveness of nitrile rubber and fluororubber decreases below -40°C; therefore, in extremely cold environments, PTFE seals or metal shielding are preferred.
Shielded thin-walled bearings: Equipped with a protective shield to block contaminants while allowing partial lubrication leakage. Suitable for applications where contaminant requirements are less stringent than for fully sealed bearings.
Thin-walled bearing cages:
Riveted cages: These products feature cage sections secured with rivets to ensure high structural integrity. Suitable for heavy-duty applications and applications requiring durable bearings.
Crown cages: Uniform ball spacing reduces friction, suitable for high-speed, precision applications. All 6700 series bearings use crown cages. Some 6800 and 6900 series bearings also use high-speed TW nylon crown cages.
Belt cages: Metal belt design ensures uniform ball spacing, suitable for low-friction applications. Many 6800 and 6900 series bearings have two belt cages.
